Bio
Mr. Daniel Mahoney has been a resident of Mongolia on a full-time basis since 1997 and has extensive experience providing general corporate, capital markets, tax, project finance, aircraft leasing, and banking advice to many of the world's leading international law firms, investment and commercial banks, mining companies, and other corporates. Mr. Mahoney is one of only two Mongolia-based lawyers ranked as an "Eminent Practitioner" by Chambers Global and listed in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame (the other is Mr. Jay Liotta, the Firm's other name partner). In 2017, by the order of the President of Mongolia, Mr. Mahoney was awarded the Polar Star, the highest civilian award Mongolia can present to a foreign citizen.
Mr. Mahoney began his legal career as an associate in the Capital Finance and Real Estate Team at the international law firm of Hunton & Williams. Mr. Mahoney received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree with high honors, from George Washington University, where he was a member of the George Washington Law Review and Order of the Coif. Mr. Mahoney received his BSM degree, with high honors, from the Tulane University of Louisiana, where he was a member of the Tulane Scholars and Honors Program and Beta Gamma Sigma honorary business fraternity. Mr. Mahoney is an associate member of the Virginia State Bar and is a registered foreign lawyer in Mongolia.
